In a significant stride towards enhancing the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports ecosystem, the world series event is embarking on a new chapter by introducing a revolutionary Wild Card format alongside its Group and Knockout stages. Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the  M5 World Championship is set to elevate the standards of competitive gaming with an upgraded tournament model that promises more excitement and inclusivity. The details regarding the M World Series event was unveiled during the grand finals event in the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023.

M5 World Championship to welcome even more regions through Wild Card format

For the first time in the history of this esteemed international MOBA tournament, the Wild Card format will be introduced, encompassing both established and emerging regions. This forward-thinking move aims to empower the global esports community by providing additional opportunities for cross-regional dialogue and fostering a sense of inclusiveness among participants.

TheM5 World Championship Wild Card is scheduled to take place in November and will showcase eight regions in a different host country. Among the confirmed regions participating in the Wild Card stage as of now are Malaysia, Mekong, Latin America, South Asia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), and Mongolia. The remaining two regions will be revealed at a later date, building further anticipation for the tournament.

Following the M5 World Championship Wild Card phase, the action will continue with the Group and Knockout Stages, set to be held in the Philippines sometime in December 2023. Teams will battle fiercely for the ultimate glory, with the M5 Champion earning a lion's share of the impressive $900,000 USD prize pool.
