Lucian Has Been Introduced in League of Legends: Wild Rift

A new marksman champion, Lucian, has been introduced in League of Legends: Wild Rift, a few days before the major event, Sentinels of Light. Riot Games have posted a champion overview of Lucian in Wild Rift through their official social media handles on 6th July 2021, showcasing all of his ability effects. Lucian is expected to arrive with another champion named Senna in the upcoming crossover event called Sentinels of Light on 8th July 2021, along with a ton of new skins, emotes, profile icons, borders, and many more. Lucian, The Purifier, Has Been Revealed in Wild Rift

According to the lore, Lucian is a member of the Sentinels who are fighting to purge the Black Mist caused by the Ruined King, Viego. Lucian will stop at nothing to protect the living from the horrors of the Black Mist.

The new marksman champion boasts high mobility compared to other marksman champions. This allows him to easily chase down or run away from his enemies. His ultimate skill, “The Culling”, is very powerful against champions who are running away in a straight line.

His skills are quite simple and easy to understand. However, players will have to practice his abilities to use it effectively as all of his skills are skillshots.

Lucian Abilities in Wild Rift

Passive Skill: Lightslinger

Lucian fires a double shot after casting an ability. This allows him to double his DPS with the right combo.

1st Skill: Piercing Light

Shoots a bolt of light in a straight line, damaging enemies in its path. This is good for wave clearing as it can shoot through enemies, allowing you to trade blows with the enemy while also killing minions for gold. This skill also reveals invisible enemies hit for a short while.

2nd Skill: Ardent Blaze

Fire a shot that explodes, damaging and marking enemies hit with the explosion. Hitting marked enemies the second time will grant bonus movement speed. This is what makes Lucian quite mobile. With the right placement of this skill, he can easily chase down targets or run away from potential danger.

3rd Skill: Relentless Pursuit

Lucian can dash a short distance with this skill. The cooldown of this skill is reduced everytime he casts “Lightslinger.” This is perfect for dodging skillshots or dashing through thin walls for some amazing outplay potential.

Ultimate Skill: The Culling

Fire waves of shots for a few seconds. This is Lucian's most dangerous skill. Players who are running away from him in a straight line will receive the most damage as this skill will continuously bombard a certain direction with a rain of bullets. However, if you fire in the wrong direction, you will miss the chance and will have to wait for its cooldown so proper skill placement is a must.

With how high Lucian’s mobility is, it would be interesting to see if Lucian will be able to break the meta in Wild Rift. Players can definitely look forward to his debut in the upcoming major event, Sentinels of Light in Wild Rift.
