To celebrate Diwali, India-based publisher SuperGaming has announced a new hero for its upcoming battle royale ‘Indus.’ The new hero is created by Homi J. Bhabha as per the game’s lore. The release of the hero seeks to tap into India’s history and culture and the release of Pokhran seeks to memorialize one of India’s most important scientists ever.
Indus Seeks to Promote India’s Culture and History Through Indus
Bhabha was a strong advocate for the development of nuclear energy in India. He believed that nuclear energy could help India achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency. In 1954, he founded the Atomic Energy Establishment, Trombay (AEET), which later became the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). BARC is India's premier nuclear research facility.
Bhabha was also a leading figure in the international scientific community. He was president of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) from 1960 to 1963. He was also a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Bhabha was tragically killed in a plane crash in 1966, at the age of 56. His death was a great loss to India and to the world of science.
The made-in-India battle royale game seeks to highlight Bhabha’s accomplishments through its gameplay and Pokhran is just one of the many heroes that will highlight India’s history and culture.
