HomeBois Elevates Malaysia's M5 World Championship Aspirations

HomeBois clinched the coveted title of champions in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) Season 12. The team secured its first-ever MPL MY championship by triumphing over Team SMG in an intense Grand Finals battle that concluded on 8th October. This exhilarating victory at Dewan Sri Putra, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, marked HomeBois' inaugural appearance in an MPL MY Grand Final and its first-ever win against Team SMG.

As MPL MY Season 12 champions, HomeBois not only claimed the largest portion of the $100,000 USD prize pool but also earned the privilege of representing Malaysia in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M5 World Championship 2023, scheduled to take place from 2nd - 17th December to in the Philippines. This global event presents an opportunity for HomeBois to embody the #pantangmengalah (Don’t Give Up) spirit on the international stage. On the other hand, Team SMG will embark on a journey to the M5 World Championship by advancing to the M5 Wild Card event from 23rd to 26th November, held for the first time in Malaysia. Here, they will vie for two coveted spots in the M5 World Championship.

HomeBois' conquest of the MPL MY Season 12 title reflects their remarkable evolution since their debut in MPL MY Season 7, where they secured a 7th/8th place finish. Renowned for their passionate and extensive fanbase, HomeBois bolstered their roster this season with the addition of Roamer Mohamad "Xorn" Zul Hisham Bin Mohd Noor, Gold Laner Wahyu "RaizeL" Saputra, and coach Khairul "PABZ" Azman Bin Mohd Sharif. Notably, Xorn played a pivotal role in the finals and earned the title of Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Playoffs.

HomeBois' journey to victory in Season 12 began with a solid 3rd-place finish in the Regular Season, with their only defeats coming at the hands of RSG Malaysia (1st) and Team SMG (2nd). In the Playoffs, they initiated their winning streak by defeating Season 10 champions, Team HAQ, with a 2-0 scoreline in the Upper Bracket Quarter Finals. They continued their momentum by overcoming the Regular Season leaders, RSG Malaysia, with a 2-1 victory in the Upper Bracket Semi Finals. Their path to the Grand Finals culminated in a resounding 3-0 triumph over Selangor Red Giants in the Upper Bracket Finals, finishing with a 4-3 epic showdown against Team SMG in the Grand Finals.

Homebois will head straight to the M5 World Championship event set to be held in the Philippines this December 2023. The second placed Team SMG, on the other hand, will have its chance to qualify to the main world series event through the Wild Card Stage set to be held in Malaysia this November.
