Omega Esports pro player, Billy “Z4pnu” Alfonso reveals that the team’s star rookie, Duane “Kelra” Pillas is having a hard time playing with the new members of the team during the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 8. On a vlog posted on 21st Sept 2021, Z4pnu stated that Kelra wishes to play with the old members of the team (aka the former Execration lineup from MPL PH Season 7) as he feels uncomfortable playing with the new members. This may explain why the team struggled to compete in the MPL PH Season 8 despite Kelra, the star rookie of the team, being back in the main lineup. It was said that Kelra was coy when making shotcalls which made it hard for him to communicate while in the match.

Kelra requests to bring back the Execration lineup for MPL PH Season 8

Omega Esports is struggling to find its momentum in the MPL PH Season 8. The team is currently tied with Bren Esports with only two wins and six losses in the overall standings. Despite the return of its star rookie, Kelra, the team’s overall performance did not improve. Fortunately, the team may have figured out the main reason why Kelra is having a hard time playing in the ongoing MPL league.

In a vlog, Z4pnu reveals that he had a talk with the star rookie. It was revealed that Kelra is still adjusting to the new teammates and finds it hard to communicate with them during matches. This became a real problem to the team as Kelra couldn’t properly do the shotcalling. Z4pnu even stated that the star rookie was forbidden from doing shotcalls when the team was playing against Bren Esports in the fourth week of the MPL PH Season 8.

“At least now we know the problem, I talked to Kelra personally,” stated Z4pnu.

Aside from acquiring the team roster of Execration back on July 2021, Omega Esports also introduced three new members - Dian “Dian” Cruz, Romeir “Allidap” Padilla, Dean “Raizen” Sumagui, and Robert “Hito” Candoy.

The team figured that Kelra felt shy around the new members and was finding it hard to open up to them. This may have been the reason the team couldn’t perform their best despite the star rookie joining the lineup.

According to Z4pnu, Kelra requested to play with the former Execration lineup for their next match, which is composed of Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic, Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog, Kiel VJ “Kielvj” Hernandez, Renz “Renzio” Cadua, and Kelra. The star rookie’s request is still being evaluated by the team, according to Z4pnu.

He also added that the team may be feeling pressured because of its losing streak. This resulted in them performing badly despite the decent drafting phase. But, despite all their setbacks the team is still looking forward to redeeming itself in the upcoming week of the MPL PH season.

Omega Esports is scheduled to go up against ONIC PH in the fifth week of the MPL PH Season 8 on 24th Sept 2021 at 6:00 PM (PHT). It will be interesting to see if the team will be able to bounce back in the competition.
