Shortly after RSG Slate Philippines (PH) announced the acquisition of John Paul “H2wo” Salonga, the pro player shared an emotional Facebook post on 7th February. H2wo will join RSG Slate PH in the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 11. The fan-favorite jungler wrote his farewell message to his former Nexplay EVOS squad. H2wo also expressed his excitement to start a new journey under a new team.
The MPL PH Season 11 is set to kick off on 17th February 2023. The event will feature eight franchise teams competing for this season’s championship title and a ticket to the prestigious Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023.
H2wo bids goodbye to Nexplay EVOS
H2wo was one of the most iconic pro players of Nexplay EVOS. He even competed with the squad when it was called Nexplay Solid back in Season 6. The star jungler was also part of the esports organization’s “Big Three” along with Tristan "YAWI" Cabrera and Renejay "RENEJAY" Barcase before they went their separate ways.
Through a Facebook post, H2wo thanked his former team Nexplay EVOS for giving him a chance to grow as a pro player.
“I didn't see myself being included in the "Thank you" post because from the beginning I don't just think of the people at NXPE and the bootcamp as work, I consider them family. I know I wouldn't be here in this position and comfort of life if it wasn't for her and the people who support me/us,“ he wrote.
The iconic jungler also thanked RSG Slate for taking him in despite not being able to shine in recent MLBB tournaments.
“I am also thankful to RSG, my new teammates and the coach because they fought and accepted me. I haven't proven anything but they accepted me, champs. I'm excited for this new phase of my life!” H2wo added.
RSG PH shall aim to win a championship title in the upcoming MPL PH Season 11 and defend its title in the upcoming MSC 2023. It will be interesting to see how the team will utilize an explosive jungler like H2wo in the upcoming tournament.
