Following the official confirmation of Battlegrounds Mobile India’s (BGMI) return, esports organizations who were left dry without any tournaments are now buckling up to resume their operations in full-scale. Gods Reign, a prominent organization in India’s esports space, has now teased a new BGMI lineup which was reported to be filled with the current TSM roster. Although Gods Reign is yet to concur with these claims,
Gods Reign teases its new BGMI Roster
“Today is a Big day for the Indian esports ecosystem. We are excited to see what the most awaited game has in store for us! Roster announcement soon, stay tuned” reads the official post on Gods Reign’s social handles. No roster announcement date has been revealed just yet.
This comes at a time when the Los Angeles based esports org is looking at massive layoffs across the board following their $210 million USD deal break off in naming rights as FTX collapsed in the crypto market. Reports were surfacing that TSM is considering halting its operation across multiple titles, which potentially includes the BGMI lineup as well that has been sitting idle during the entire ban period.
What is the new Gods Reign roster?
Furthermore, some community members have reasons to believe that the squad already left the US organization a few weeks ago. The players currently in talks include Aquanox, Blaze and Ninjajod, who had an impressive start in 2021 by placing second in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 and winning the Nodwin x Loco All Stars Invitational.
However, their track record was dented just before BGMI’s ban in India when TSM finished at the bottom of two back-to-back official tournaments. The departure of Shadow from the lineup also left the roster without an IGL on the roster. Reports mention that Robin, a former teammate of these players with years of synergy together, will take on the role of the in-game leader in the new Gods Reign lineup.
As Krafton is yet to announce the official launch date of BGMI, the orgs have enough time to try and test their new rosters before confirming. There have not been any updates on esports roadmap as well except for the updated privacy policy which mentions that the BGMI Esports events will be hosted by two Indian agencies, NODWIN Gaming and Tesseract LLC.
