Gods Reign defeated Revenant Esports in the grand finale of the TEGC 2022 Pokemon UNITE.

This is the second consecutive grand finals that Revenant Esports has lost on LAN.

Over the course of the last few months, Pokemon UNITE has slowly made its way to the top of the Indian mobile esports scene and was included as one of the four esports titles in the ninth edition of the TEGC 2022 (Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup).

Taking place today on 26th November at Infinity Mall in Malad, Mumbai from 11:00 AM (IST) onwards, TEGC 2022 featured a total prize pool of INR 12,00,000 ($14,693 USD) split between four competitive titles Pokemon UNITE, CS:GO, World Cricket Championship 3, and VALORANT.

The grand finale of TEGC 2022 Pokemon UNITE was played on LAN at the venue between Gods Reign and Revenant Esports, the former winning an extremely close-fought series that went down to the wire and concluded with a '3-2' scoreline.

The grand finale of TEGC 2022 Pokemon UNITE was played today between the two finalists, Gods Reign and Revenant Esports. Both teams made their way to the LAN tournament in Mumbai all the way through the open qualifiers.

A total of four open qualifiers had taken place for Pokemon UNITE from 26th September to 31st October, the winners from each qualifier moving ahead to the playoffs through which the final two teams were selected to compete against each other in the grand finale.

  • Qualifier 1: 26th Sep to 2nd Oct - True Rippers

  • Qualifier 2: 5th to 11th Oct - Revenant Esports

  • Qualifier 3: 13th Oct to 19th Oct - S8UL Esports

  • Qualifier 4: 27th to 31st Oct - Gods Reign

  • Grand Finale: 26th Nov - Gods Reign

The first game started off with Revenant Esports crushing Gods Reign with a score of '481-277', but the Revenant pulled off an epic comeback in the second game with the scoreboard reading '421-194'.

With the scores levelled, Revenant had to dig deep and they did exactly that to take a lead in the third game with a score of '360-249', but Gods Reign was not done yet and hustled hard to steal a really close victory '277-227'.

Down to the fifth and final map, both teams were ready to lock horns one last time with the winner walking away as the champion. Unfortunately, Revenant failed to rise up to the occasion as Gods Reign walked away with a dominant victory of '552-266'.

The brilliant series between the two teams came to an exciting '3-2' finish, as both teams stepped up to deliver powerful performances, Revenant Esports bagging INR 1,00,000 in prize money while Gods Reign walked away with INR 2,00,000 along with the bragging rights.
