GodLike Esports professional Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) player Suraj “Neyoo” Majumdar expressed that he will not be playing Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) scrims until the game returns. He explained that this decision is a strategic approach to ensure that he is mentally prepared for the competition after the game's return.
Neyoo wants to avoid overthinking lowering his morale before BGMI returns
On the final day of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022 (PMGC 2022), Neyoo hosted a watch party on his YouTube channel. Notably, prior to the start of PMGC 2022, Neyoo was inactive on his YouTube channel and did not stream for a couple of weeks. As a result, one of his viewers asked him when he would start playing BGMI. In response, Neyoo explained that he would continue playing classic matches to stay warmed up and in touch with the game, but he won’t play competitive scrims right now.
Neyoo stated that if he plays scrims and does not perform well, he will end up nitpicking mistakes in his gameplay and start overthinking his gameplay even before the game’s return. “I want the game to come first, then I will play it directly with complete focus. I don’t want to be stressed before the game comes,” he said. “What am I achieving by playing now? Am I winning trophies? No.”
“I agree that we are getting good team practice. That’s a hundred percent sure, but my entire team is not playing the game,” he added.
Neyoo further explains that when the game comes out, he will start to focus on the team play, but right now, he wants to avoid playing with the team as it would potentially lead to overthinking and a decrease in morale. “I will play my own game. I will keep the personal grind, individual grind going,” he added.
Overall, Neyoo's decision to focus on personal practice and avoid scrims until the game's release is a thoughtful approach to ensure that he is mentally prepared for the competition. This mindset is not only important for professional players but for anyone who wants to excel in competitive gaming.
