RSG Slate Philippines (PH) iconic coach Brian “Panda” Lim explained why the team chose to let John Darry “Irrad” Abarquez play as the jungler instead of its new addition John Paul “H2wo” Salonga for the final week of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) PH Season 11 regular season. According to the coach, the decision was made to fix an issue that has plagued the team since the first week of the regular season. Coach Panda revealed that he is planning on using both players in the playoffs stage in hopes of delivering different flavors of RSG PH and forming the most optimal lineup moving forward.

Coach Panda addresses concerns about H2wo’s playstyle

The final week of the MPL PH Season 11 regular season saw an impressive resurgence from RSG PH after its mid-season slump. The squad scored a convincing 2-0 sweep against Nexplay EVOS.

One of the highlights of the series was RSG PH’s switch of jungle players from H2wo to 1rrad. Through a post-match interview, Coach Panda explained the reason behind the surprising switch.

“[The team] lacks the aggressiveness in games because if you think about Season 9 games, we were really strong in team fights and the aggressiveness. It’s like, we were the ones always chasing the enemy and the enemy backing down. That is our game style,” Panda explained.

He further elaborated that 1rrad’s playstyle would introduce the aggressive playstyle that he wanted to see from RSG PH.

“Irrad is very aggressive. He’s more of a selfish, self-centered jungler who wants to get lots of farms. Meanwhile, H2wo is more of a selfless jungler who is willing to sacrifice himself for the team. What I need is a balance between those two,” stated the Hall of Legends inductee coach
