The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS): Season 1 has completed its League Stage, with 16 out of the 24 teams moving to the Grand Finals week, all set to take place from 9th to 12th June. The qualified teams will be competing for the massive INR 2,00,00,000 ($260,054 USD) total prize pool.

The competition has been tough so far but despite this OR Esports has been able to outright dominate the League Stage, finishing on top of the points table with 562 points to its name, a difference of 43 points from the second-placed, Team SouL. While a team had to only place in the top 16 to qualify for the Grand Finals, from here on out each team will be giving it all to take the top position and claim the title of being the BMPS Season 1 champions.

Following the conclusion of the League Stage which ran for three weeks from 19th May to 5th June, the number of competing BGMI teams has reduced from 24 to 16, as one final week remains to crown the champion of Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series Season 1.

Qualifying Teams

A total of 24 BGMI teams had locked horns in the BMPS Season 1 League Stage. After three weeks of intense competition, only the top 16 teams were able to make their way through to the Grand Finals, while the remaining eight teams were eliminated.

Format and Schedule

The BMPS Season 1 plays host to a combination of top-tier and underdog newcomer teams, locking horns across two different stages, information for the same is as follows,

League Stage

  • In the League Stage, the 24 qualified teams were split into three mixed groups of eight teams each, taking on each other following a round-robin format across three weeks - 19th May to 5th June.

  • Here, each week witnessed four game days with six matches being played every day, resulting in a total of 24 matches every week and a cumulative total of 72 matches across the entire League Stage.

  • This means that each group played 16 matches every week and a cumulative total of 48 matches across the entire League Stage.

Grand Finals

  • Based on the performance of teams across all the matches, the top 16 teams have qualified ahead to the Grand Finals which are scheduled to take place from 9th to 12th June.

  • Here, each day will witness six matches taking place, resulting in a total of 24 matches being played across the four days, and the team with the highest cumulative points will be crowned as the champion of BMPS Season 1.

Prize Pool Distribution

The BMPS Season 1 features a massive prize pool of INR 2,00,00,000 ($260,054 USD) which is being touted as the biggest total prize pool for a single tournament in the history of Indian esports.

This amount will be split between all the 16 teams that make it to the Grand Finals of the tournament, along with some individual and team accolades like MVP (Most Valuable Player), Most Finishes, Lone Survivor, and Rampage.
