After a successful Season 1 of Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series (BGMS) in 2022, Nodwin Gaming has returned with its second iteration, BGMS Season 2. This will also be a LAN event and will be telecasted by Star Sports. The prize pool for the event is a massive sum of INR 2.1 Crores which is a significant increase from last year's prize pool.

The event will bring forth some of the highly anticipated rivalries between Tanmay “Scout” Singh, Jonathan “Jonathan” Amaral, Harmandeep “Mavi” Singh, Harsh “Goblin” Paudwal and many more of the renowned BGMI pros, so fans will be eagerly waiting to witness these rivalries. The event will also feature top teams from India including the likes of Team Soul, Team Godlike, Blind Esports, Team X Spark, and not to forget the Season 1 champion, Global Esports.

Rivalries in BGMS Season 2

The rivalries in this event are what fans are excited to see. Rivalries between upcoming players and veterans like Scout, Mavi, Jonathan and Goblin as well as well known teams like Team Soul, Team Godlike and Blind Esports will put together a show of spectacle skill and strategy, so fans will not want to miss out on the action.

The rivalries between veteran players and upcoming talents is one to look out for and some of them include:

Scout vs Jonathan:

Tanmay “Scout” Singh is a veteran player in the BGMI Esports scenario. He has played for various teams in the past including Team Godlike, Team IND, Team Fnatic, OR Esports, and Team Soul. Currently he has formed his own team named Team X Spark. He has also been one of the few players to represent India on the global stage.

Jonathan “Jonathan” Amaral is also a BGMI Esports athlete currently playing for Team Godlike. He has also had various most valuable player (MVP) performances representing India on the global stage.

Both the players have played against each other for several years and have garnered a massive following showcasing their skill. Both the players will look forward to cementing their legacy as the best in the game.

Scout vs Mavi:

Harmandeep “Mavi” Singh is a veteran player in the community. Mavi has played at the highest level since the inception of the game. Both Mavi and Scout were Teammates for a long period of time in OR Esports and Team X Spark, and in 2023 Mavi and Team X Spark parted ways.

Mavi has now joined the Season 1 champion Global Esports. This spectacle  of former teammates turned rivals will be an emotional one for the fans, as both of them shall aim to prove their worth on the battlefield against each other.

Scout vs Goblin: 

Harsh “Goblin” Paudwal is an upcoming talent in the BGMI scene. Playing for Team Soul he was able to win Battlerounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2022.

He also bagged several individual awards including MVP of the Grand Finals, Fan Favorite player, and many more.

This rivalry is between an experienced veteran player and a young fierce and confident player who doesn't back out from fights. Who will come out on top, an experienced player or an emerging star player? This bout will be exciting to watch.

BGMS Season 2 format and dates:

The format for BGMS Season 2 is an exciting one, as the teams will get multiple opportunities to qualify for the Grand Finals. The top 16 teams qualifying in the Grand Finals will also stand a chance to win a massive sum from the prize pool. The format is as follows:

Opening Rumble: Takes place from Friday to Sunday, 4th to 6th August, where teams likely engage in preliminary matches to kick off the tournament.

Qualification Week: Occurs from Monday to Thursday, 7th to 10th August, during which the groups play each other to qualify for the Super Weekend.

Super Weekend 1: Held from Friday to Sunday, 11th to 13th August, where the top 16 teams compete for main leaderboard points.

Elimination Week: Takes place from Monday to Thursday, 14th to 17th August, where the groups play again to qualify for Super Weekend 2.

Super Weekend 2: Conducted from Friday to Sunday, 18th to 20th August, where the 16 teams fight for main leaderboard points. However, the bottom 4 teams are eliminated.

Playoffs for Teams 5 to 20: Held on Tuesday and Wednesday, 22nd and 23rd August, involving teams ranked from 5th to 20th in the leaderboard.

Grand Finals: Occurring from Friday to Sunday, 25th to 27th August, where the top 12 teams from previous stages, along with the top 4 teams from Super Weekend 2, compete for the ultimate victory.

BGMS Season 2 Prize Pool 

BGMS Season 2 boasts a massive prize pool of INR 2.1 Crores. This is a significant increase since the last season. The team finishing at the 1st position will walk away with a sum of INR 1 Crore. 

As was the case last year, this year's event will also be a LAN event and will be broadcasted by Star sports on television. This event will also be telecasted in multiple languages including Hindi, English and Tamil languages.

Between BGMI’s ban in 2022 and unban in 2023 there have been multiple roster changes in the teams, and predicting a winner for the tournament would be difficult, but the exciting battle between the new teams and experienced teams will be one to watch out for.
