BGIS 2024 The Grind: Teams, Format, Points System, Dates and More

Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2024 is about to start and Krafton, Battlegrounds Mobile India’s (BGMI) publisher has revealed details of the event. BGIS 2024 The Grind is the qualifier event for the BGIS 2024 main event. The Grind event will see a mix of seasoned and underdog teams competing across four weeks. The top 64 teams in The Grind event will be given slots directly in the BGIS 2024 main event.

The BGIS 2024 event will have the same format as before with the qualifiers being played in The Grind event from 4th April onwards. There will be a mix of underdog and seasoned teams invited to compete which shall then be further slotted as per their standings in this event.

This is the format for BGIS 2024 The Grind:

The Grind (4th April to 28th April):

In The Grind event, 256 teams will be invited and will be divided into 16 groups. Each group will play 3 matches in 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, based on the overall standings, the 256 teams will be grouped into 16 groups again and play 3 matches for the next 2 weeks. The top 64 teams based on the cumulative overall standings of the 4 weeks will qualify for the BGIS 2024 in the following rounds: 

Teams slots for BGIS main event according to their standings in The Grind event:

• 1st –16th Ranked Teams - BGIS Round 4 

• 17th – 32nd Ranked Teams - BGIS Round 3 

• 33rd – 64th Ranked Teams - BGIS Round 2

Points System

Points system for the BGIS 2024 The Grind event:

• 1st place: 10 points.

• 2nd place: 6 points. 

• 3rd place: 5 points.

• 4th place: 4 points.

• 5th place: 3 points.

• 6th place: 2 points.

• 7th place: 1 point.

• 8th place: 1 point. 

• 9th - 16th place: 0 points.

• 1 Finish: 1 point.

Where to watch BGIS 2024 The Grind?

The BGIS 2024 The Grind event will be live streamed on the official Krafton India Esports Youtube Channel from 4th April, 3:30 PM onwards in Hindi and English languages.

BGIS 2024 The Grind marks the start of official BGMI events in the 2024 season. So far underdog teams have shown good performances across multiple third party events played in the first three months of 2024.
