TNC Pro Team’s seasoned veteran Ben “Benthings” Maglaque is crowned as the Razer Gold - Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Press Corps Player of The Week. The pro player was one of the pillars who led the bottom-ranked squad in pulling off a surprising 2-1 victory over Bren Esports, which is currently at the top of the regular season leaderboard. On top of his prestigious title, Benthings shall also receive a new headset courtesy of Razor Gold, one of the leading virtual credit providers for gamers worldwide.

The Razer Gold MPL PH Press Corps Player of the Week award is decided and deliberated upon by print and online media covering the MPL PH beat, as well as the league’s broadcasters and operations team.

Prior to their second-round matchup in the MPL Philippines Season 11 regular season, no one anticipated the league's bottom-ranked TNC Pro Team to compete, much less steal a game from Bren Esports which is currently leading in the league.

The bronze medalist from Season Nine was 1-9 in the standings before the series and was just two losses away from missing the playoffs for the second year in a row. The former world champion on the other hand has now won nine straight games, a streak that is one of the longest in franchise history. This victory helped Bren Esports qualify for the postseason.

But like a phoenix, TNC emerged from the ashes last Sunday and pulled off one of the biggest, if not the largest, upsets of Season 11 by defeating Bren Esports 2-1 and gave life to their dwindling season.

The massive upset victory was led by roamer Ben "Benthings" Maglaque, who was named the Most Valuable Player in TNC's victories in Games One and Three. He finished the opener with 10 assists and two deaths on Khufra before adding 10 assists and four deaths in the decider.

Benthings was named the Razer Gold-MPL Philippines Press Corps Player of the Week for the week of 24th to 30th March. Razer Gold will reward him with a Razer Blackshark V2, on top of his prestigious title.

The 27-year-old roamer is hopeful that this enormous victory will spark TNC's playoff run. Prior to the victory over Bren, the squad had lost three games to RSG PH, and now, with a 2-9 record, they are in a must-win situation.

“This game is very important, not only to secure a playoffs spot. This is also in preparation for the next season,” said Benthings.

“We never lost hope in securing a playoffs spot, that’s why we did our best,” he added.
