After a fist-clenching grand final in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup 2021 (MSC 2021), Execration emerged victorious against Blacklist International in a rematch between two teams from the Philippines. We saw Danerie "Wise" Rosario proved that late-game heroes can snowball early with his Brody game during game one. However, Execration took the game to the next level as Kelra dominated the succeeding matches with his wide array of hero pool, putting Blacklist International in a bad situation they couldn’t win. Here is a quick recap of all the actions that transpired during the MSC 2021 grand finals.
Execration Had their Revenge Victory Against Blacklist International in the MSC 2021
During game one, Blacklist took full control of the map. Execration tried to find an opening but it was a very weak early to late game for them due to Blacklist’s constant pressure and rotation. Danerie "Wise" Rosario’s Brody snowballed so early, reaching level 15 in under 10 minutes. Execration couldn’t decide if they wanted to group up and engage in team fights or defend their side lanes from the split pushers. This put them in a bad situation where they couldn’t do anything and let Blacklist press forward and secured the first win.
In game two, Execration made a counterattack. They successfully pressured Wise’s Yi Sun-Shin, preventing it from snowballing early. During the late game, Kiel "Keilvj " Harnandez’s Brody snowballed very hard while Blacklist didn’t have anything in their arsenal to fight back. The match ended with Execration winning the second game.
Execration kept their momentum going in the third game, dominating the early game. Blacklist International managed to recover in the late game, opening Execration’s middle lane. However, Duane "Kelra" Pilllas’ Esmeralda has already scaled decently, allowing him to carry his team in every team fight. At the 18-minute mark, Kelra was already unstoppable, single handedly taking down any blacklist member. The match ended with Execration securing their second win.
In the fourth match, Blacklist had a good start, pushing Execration back with their base open at the 20-minute mark. However, Kelra’s Lunox managed to flip the tides and completely dominate Blacklist in every team fight. Blacklist almost won but Execration knows their priorities and focused on taking down objectives and choosing team fights they can win. The match ended with Execration taking the win in the fourth match.
In the fifth game, Blacklist seemed exhausted. They couldn’t win team fights as Kielvj’s Brody just kept dominating in the early game. ESON’s Franco barely landed any hooks which it very hard for his team to engage. Even if Blacklist manages to pick a good opportunity, Renz "Renzio" Cadua’s Gloo will always be there to disrupt the teamfight and turn the tides. At the 13-minute mark, Execration went all out and took down Blacklist International’s top and middle turrets. The suspense went on as Blacklist desperately tried to defend their base. However, Kelra’s Chang’e is already a monster that can wipe out an entire squad with his ultimate skill. The match ended with Execration securing their championship title in the MSC 2021
It was a very long yet exciting grand final in the MSC 2021. Blacklist International tried their best but Execration has already learned from their mistakes back in MPL PH Season 7 and made sure they secured their championship title.
