The India Today Group has teamed up with Garena to bring forth a multi-city Free Fire tournament, Esports Premier League (ESPL) 2021. The inaugural season of the tournament features a total prize pool worth INR 25,00,000 ($34,269~ USD) whose ‘Level 1 - Group B’ open qualifiers are scheduled to start next week onwards, from June 16. With around 100 Free Fire teams reported to be competing in the initial phase of the tournament, ESPL 2021 will be taking place over the course of the next two and a half months. The champions will be crowned on August 29 following the final stage of the event, where the top eight Free Fire teams will be representing different Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Bangalore.

The Esports Premier League (ESPL) 2021 which is set to be a Free Fire tournament will be taking place over the course of the next couple of months. The franchise-based esports league will be a multi-city event and here is everything that you need to know about it.
ESPL 2021 Format
The ESPL 2021 tournament format consists of multiple levels.
- The ‘Level 1 - Group A’ whose registration started on May 1 will be coming to an end on June 14, the registrations are still live.
- The ‘Level 1 - Group B’ registrations will start from June 16 and will be coming to an end on June 24.
- The ‘Level 1 - Group C’ registrations will start from June 26 and will be coming to an end on July 4.
- The ‘Level 1 - Group D’ registrations will start from July 6 and will be coming to an end on July 14.
In total, 88 teams and eight invited teams (totally 96 teams) will be making their way from the initial level to the second stage of the tournament, ‘Level 2’ of ESPL 2021. From here on, only eight teams will further move on to ‘Level 3/4’ where they will then represent one of the following eight Indian cities,
- Delhi
- Mumbai
- Chennai
- Kolkata
- Bengaluru
- Hyderabad
- Punjab
- Rajasthan
The tournament is scheduled to conclude on August 29, when the grand finale of ESPL 2021 will take place and the first champion will be crowned.

Despite ESPL 2021 being a franchise-based multi-city Free Fire tournament, it is open for participation to all players and teams that have a desire to compete and show their talent. So all those interested can simply register themselves by visiting ‘India Today Gaming’.
- Once the ESPL 2021 official website opens, you need to click on ‘Register Now’ right on the main page.
- A new window will pop up asking for basic information, you can also directly log in through your Facebook or Google accounts.
- Once the registration is complete, you can simply join any one or all of the ‘Level 1’ groups (open qualifiers) as and when they are available and start competing.
ESPL 2021: Where To Watch
The ESPL 2021 will be live-streamed on Disney+ Hotstar alongside other India Today Group platforms like their official Facebook Page, YouTube Channel, and Aaj Tak.
