Bren Esports' Coach Reveals How They Beat Blacklist International

During the fifth week of the MPL PH Season 7, Bren Esports won one of the most important matches against Blacklist International, resulting in a 2-1 score. Everyone was surprised as they finally managed to take down the most dominant team in the MPL PH Season 7.

During a post-match conference for MPL Ph Season 7 Week 5, Bren Esports coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro explained that the key for Blacklist International’s success in the MPL was all because of their prodigy Kiel “Oheb” Soriano. He further addressed that all they had to do was to limit Oheb’s hero pics through the first few drafts.

“That was the trend of their draft, they will always pick Oheb’s heroes in the first phase of the draft as well as Wise’s heroes,” stated Duckeyyy.

The coach further explained that once Oheb gets his momentum going, that’s where Blacklist starts to dominate. So instead of focusing on suppressing the VeeWise combo, they instead kept their eyes on Oheb.

Bren had fixed bans in the first two matches, banning Alice and Harith, Oheb’s most successful heroes so far.

This came into fruition during the second match where they pulled off an epic comeback all thanks to Lusty’s well-executed knock-up with his Pupol and Kupa during a crucial team fight, 21 minutes into the match.

Coach Duckeyyy also added his observation on Wise’s play style. He stated that Wise is limited to playing only marksman heroes which is something they also took advantage of.
