  • Garena Free Fire has reportedly surpassed PUBG Mobile as the highest-earning Battle Royale in the U.S.

One of the top-performing mobile Battle Royale games in the market, Garena Free Fire has reportedly surpassed PUBG Mobile as the highest-earning Battle Royale title in the United States during the first quarter of 2021. According to Sensor Tower, Free Fire generated approximately $100 Million USD in revenue during the last quarter, more than enough to rise above PUBG Mobile who made $68 Million USD, followed by Call of Duty: Mobile with $62 Million. Competition between these big Battle Royale titles has been a norm, with each trying to surpass the other. It would seem that Free Fire has the higher ground for the first quarter of 2021.

According to a report from Sensor Tower’s Game Intelligence Product, Free Fire surpassed PUBG Mobile as the highest-earning mobile Battle Royale title for the first quarter of the year in the U.S. Free Fire generated a revenue of $100 Million compared to PUBG Mobile who made $68 Million USD, followed by Call of Duty: Mobile with $62 Million.

However, PUBG Mobile continues to dominate the mobile Battle Royale market worldwide with overall revenue of $744 Million USD. The numbers include their Chinese version of the game “Peacekeeper Elite.” Meanwhile, Free Fire lags behind with overall revenue of $255 Million in the first quarter globally. Following the two mobile MOBA titles is COD Mobile, with a revenue of $128 Million worldwide. Although Activision’s rising mobile game COD Mobile is not entirely focused on the Battle Royale genre, it has definitely contributed to the genre’s success.
