  • Olaf in Wild Rift might be getting a nerf soon according to Jonathan Chao, game manager of Wild Rift.
  • He also mentioned that the devs are aware of the Ping Spike Issues in the game.
  • The upcoming balance patch will be released within 2 weeks.

Olaf in Wild Rift might be getting a nerf, as hinted by Wild Rift Manager Jonathan Chao. Jonathan posted a sarcastic post regarding Olaf, talking about how weak the champ is and that it needs “+100” to all his base stats to make him viable in the game. Olaf has been dominating in the game ever since Kennen received a nerf on the previous patch. This is due to his ultimate skill, which allows him to be invulnerable to any type of crowd control effects while gaining a massive stats boost that can turn the tide of a team fight in a matter of seconds. This led to players complaining to Riot Games about how overpowered this champion is in Willd Rift.

Olaf in Wild Rift Might Be Getting a Nerf

Olaf is a viable champion to play in the Jungle and Baron lane. His tenacity coupled with decent damage allowed players to snowball in the late game and secure objectives as soon as possible.

However, Olaf isn’t as overpowered as Kennen used to be. He is still weak against ranged champions who can poke him down during the laning phase forcing him to play safe and lose a lot of gold and exp. However, as soon as Olaf reaches level 6, he seems to fear nothing as he can charge in without worrying about crowd control effects and just chase down targets with ease.

It would seem that the devs are already keeping an eye out for Olaf. The game manager of Wild Rift, Jonathan Chao, made a sarcastic Twitter post detailing how he thinks Olaf is too weak for the current meta. This hints that the devs are aware of Olaf’s overwhelming presence in the game and might nerf the champion soon enough.

Ping Spike Issues in Wild Rift

Jonathan Chao also informed the fans that the devs are aware of the ping spike issues they are experiencing, indicating that Riot Games is already working on fixing it. Players have been getting huge ping spikes despite their stable network connection. These spikes can go up to “999” and render the match completely unplayable. The game manager stated that the next balance patch would be released within two weeks.

Riot Games has yet to make official announcements regarding their upcoming balance patch. The latest balance patch they made was for nerf Lulu and Orianna to increase both champion’s windows of vulnerability, giving players a chance to fight back against these support mages.
