Red Bull M.E.O. World Cricket Championship Tournament to Feature Mortal and ScoutOP

  • Red Bull is hosting a World Cricket Championship tournament that will feature Scout and Mortal as competitors.
  • The tournament will also feature Tania Sachdev (Chess), Riyan Parag (cricket) and Mira Erda (Motorsports).
  • The finals are scheduled on December 13th for both the tournament and invitational.

The Red Bull M.E.O World Cricket Championship National finals will take place on December 13th to identify the best World Cricket Championship player. Qualifiers are currently ongoing since November 15th, and they will continue to December 5th. With over 2.3 lakh registrations for the event, only 48 players will be making it to the playoffs. The event will feature two Indian esports personalities Mortal and ScoutOP, who will be making an appearance at the event. 

Red Bull World Cricket Championship Format 

All 48 players who qualify competed in a 1v1 format on December 7th and 8th. The top four players are Krunal Mangukia from Surat, Charan Teja from Chittoor, Yogesh Bhuva from Mumbai and Ravi Ranjan Kumar from Muzaffarpur. The finals will be held in Gurgaon, and the winner will be declared the Red Bull World Cricket Champion. 

There will be a special invitational tournament that will feature a number of celebrities from sports and esports. ScoutOP and Mortal will be representing the Indian esports community as well as other Red Bull athletes including Tania Sachdev (Chess), Riyan Parag (cricket) and Mira Erda (Motorsports).

Tanmay ‘ScoutOP’ Singh is the most followed esports player in India, and he plays for Fnatic. Naman ‘Soul Mortal’ Mathur is India’s most popular PUBG Mobile player and streamer. Both content creators made it to the top 10 list of YouTube Gaming’s most viewed streamers. They will be playing the new 2v2 multiplayer game World Cricket Championship which is a 2v2 that mimics a real cricketing experience. WCC Rivals is a part of the WCC franchise which has over 143 million downloads and it is one of the most popular games among mobile players in India. The game offers an authentic simulation of actual cricket and makes use of motion controls for its gameplay. The latest version of the game, WCC3, also features English and Hindi commentary from cricketers Matthew Hayden and Aakash Chopra.
