Wild Rift Patch 1.0 Released Ahead of Open Beta Launch

With the regional open beta all set to launch for regions like South Korea, Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand on October 27, Riot Games just released a massive new patch (Patch 1.0) for Wild Rift bringing in multiple new champions, balance changes, and a few bug fixes to help make the regional open beta a success.

Riot Games also posted a blog detailing the changes implemented in Patch 1.0 and also elaborated on the road just ahead for Wild Rift.

iOS testing and New Downloads Will Be Disable Temporarily

Riot Games has also stated that they would be temporarily suspending iOS testing and disabling new downloads of Wild Rift to prepare for the launch of the open beta.


Multiple New Champions

Lee Sin:

Lee Sin is a fan favourite in the PC version of League of Legends

One of the more popular junglers in the PC version of League of Legends, Lee Sin has been ported over to the Wild Rift. The champion will also have the option of donning his popular Knockout Lee Sun and Muay Thai Lee Sin skins.

Six other champions:

Six other champions are also being launched for a test run: 

  • Darius
  • Draven
  • Kai’Sa
  • Evelynn
  • Akali
  • Seraphine 

Riot games stated that these six champions will be available free for all players in the closed beta from October 22 to 27. Wild Rift players were encouraged to spam these champions to help the developers iron out any bugs.


Balance Patch - League of Legends: Wild Rift Patch 1.0

The balance patch was relegated to just one item and its derivatives. Tear of the Goddess was buffed significantly.

Riot Games stated that with Wild Rift’s games being much shorter on average, compared to League of Legends (PC), items utilizing the Tear of the Goddess as one of its components are not being built. So these items were buffed to make them more viable.

Archangel’s Staff

  • Mana per stack: 12 → 15

Manamune

  • Bonus AD: 1% → 2%
  • Mana per stack: 8 → 10

Muramana

  • Bonus AD: 1% → 2%

Tear of the Goddess

  • Mana per stack: 6 → 8

Winter’s Approach

  • Mana per stack: 8 → 15


Penalties For AFK Reduced

No not AFK Gaming, AFKing in-game. Riot Games felt that the penalties for players AFKing were too harsh and has hence reduced them.

  • First AFK penalty (3-6 min): 30 min → 10 min
  • First AFK penalty (6+ min): 60 min → 20 min
  • Further AFK penalties within 7 days: 12 hours → 6 hours

Riot Games also fixed a few of Wild Rift’s bugs with this patch.
