Free-to-play 2D fighting game/brawler, Brawlhalla will be released on mobile platforms (Android and iOS) on 6th August 2020 according to the game’s publisher Ubisoft. Ubisoft has also revealed that the game will feature full cross-play support. Players can pre-register for the game by visiting brawlhalla.com/play to receive a free skin when the game is launched.
Brawlhalla is a free-to-play 2D fighting game published by Ubisoft. The game rose in popularity when it offered players a high-quality, free, cross-platform alternative to the Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series. It was previously available on Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch with over 40 million players worldwide.
The game also has a fully-fledged esports scene supported by the game’s developers. Dubbed as the Brawlstars Esports World Tour 2020 it features multiple tournaments across various regions like North America, South America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Australia.
In 2020, this series of tournaments was set to feature a prize pool of over $600,000 USD in total. However, most of these events have been postponed/canceled due to the ongoing lockdowns.
The game is confirmed to feature customized controls, cross-play, touchscreen, and controller support. More details are expected to be released shortly.
The Play Store description also states that while the game will be free-to-play, it won't include any pay-to-win advantages. The game's fighters will cycle through eight free-to-play characters every week, and if you'd like to unlock every character in one go, the All Legends Pack will allow you to do just that, though we don't yet know the price.
Brawlhalla’s developer Mammoth Games revealed there would be a mobile version of Brawlhalla "in early 2020" in an official statement in November 2019, but fans were left wondering about the details up until now.
