The PMIS 2020 Online Qualifiers are in full swing and already we find ourselves in the thick of things with two invited teams hitting the deck. The online qualifiers feature 248 qualified teams and 16 invited teams, from which SouL have withdrawn from the competition. Out of the 16 invited teams, 8 will kick off their journey in the quarter finals, which is the next stage. The remaining 8 teams have been seeded in different groups in the currently going online stage.

A total of 16 groups with 16 teams each are there in PMIS 2020 with each group playing out 2 matches. The top 3 teams from each group will qualify to the quarter finals. The online qualifiers will be played out from the 17th to the 21st of June, with three - four groups playing on each day. On day 1 of the qualifiers, the first 3 groups played out their matches with 9 teams having already made it to the next stage.

PMIS 2020 Day 1 Results

Group 1 - Team Insane were the invited team in group 1 and they find themselves after a very disappointing performance. The team failed to win either of the two matches and ended in 4th place, 5 points shy of qualifying. Infinite Warriors, Shikari eSports and Team Bope will be moving onto the next round.

Group 2 - Group 2 featured a name that many will be shocked to see leaving the competition this early. Powerhouse finished in 4th place despite winning game 2 and will be forced to leave the competition. The team made an early exit in game 1 and their game 2 win with 8 kills wasn’t good enough to secure them a top 3 spot. FATE esports, Zlevenesports and Livecraft eSports will be moving onto the next stage.

The team managed one win and 22 kills over just 2 games and finished in the top spot. Joining them in the quarters, will be Team BigFans and HYP Gaming.

The other teams who are in the online stage are:

Team Tamilas - Group 4

Team IND - Group 9

Godlike - Group 10

UMumba - Group 11

This means that Fnatic, TSM-Entity, SynerGE, Megastars, Orange Rock, Revenge Esports and Celtz will kick off their journey directly in the quarter finals of PMIS 2020.
