PMPL Americas Week 1 - Brazilian Teams Impress As Familiar Names Feel The Heat
  • PMPL Americas week 1 comes to and end.
  • Brazilian side B4 eSports leads the table.

Week 1 of PMPL Americas concluded with Brazil’s B4 eSports taking the top spot. The team managed 3 chicken dinners in 20 matches along with a 100 kills, which allowed them to finish on top of week 1 with a 13 point lead. American side Wildcard Gaming ended in second place with 3 wins to their name as well, followed by Brazilian PMCO winners, Loops.

Loops also managed to be the kill leaders for week 1, finishing with 102 frags to their name. Despite being one of the top sides, the team failed to convert any of their games into a win and were unable to take the top spot. 4th placed X-Quest Gaming also managed 3 chicken dinners, but trail due to a low kill score.

Meanwhile, teams who have represented the region in previous tournaments had a relatively harder time with Cloud 9, OMEN Elite and Team Queso all finishing in 10th place or beyond. Tempo Storm though, ended in 5th and looked quite good in terms of their aggression and fragging power but were slightly inconsistent when it comes to placings.

Unlike many other regional PMPLs, the competition seems to be a lot more closer in the Americas as the points table is quite close. The margins separating the top teams from those in the top 10 look quite small and no team is out of the running just yet with nearly 2 more weeks of games left. Some big names like Cloud9 had a disappointing beginning, playing unlike their usual selves, while others like Wildcard and Pittsburgh Knights showed that they too have the capability of representing the region. Week 2 of the PMPL Americas begins tomorrow at 5: 30 AM IST.
