Animesh 'Thug' Agarwal's charity initiative #GamersStandWithIndia was a whopping success as the community came together to raise over INR 11 lakh for good cause. The 8+ hour stream on Thug's channel was filled with great content bits, well executed events and star studded faces and not only was it for charity, it was super entertaining as well. On top of everything, Thug himself contributed INR 2 Lakh for the cause.

The total amount collected during day 1 was INR 11,35,000 (14.7K USD) which does not include the 30% cut which YouTube takes from donations via YT. While the amount itself is something to be proud of, one must appreciate the effort and the execution by Thug and his team to execute the event. The stream was segmented into several parts, each with its own sets of fun and entertainment. Key segments included old rosters reuniting to play custom games, a panel discussion with content creators and a fun segment involving popular personalities such as Tanmay Bhat, MortaL, Carryminati, Dynamo and Rawknee.

The #GamersStandWithIndia initiative will be a two day event ie. fans and viewers can also tune in on day 2 which is tomorrow, the 17th of April. All donations and contributions will be made to giveindia.org. We urge each and every member of the Indian gaming community to come and be a part of this event, and invite their friends and family to join in as well. While it's easy to speak about the toxicity and negative aspects of the community, it is always a pleasure to highlight the positives and to see community members step up for such great initiatives. We would also like to wish Thug and his team a hearty congratulations on the campaign and wish them even greater success for day 2.
