Highlights
Hoopa is a support type Pokemon that can summon warp rings that can teleport allies or damage enemies.
Hoopa can also link himself to an ally Pokemon to provide bonus movements and shield power.
Hoopa can switch to Unbound form to gain more aggressive abilities at a cost of not baing able to score points for allies.

A new Pokemon named Hoopa is now available in Pokemon UNITE, as of the version 1.4.1.4 update. Hoopa is a Mythical support type Pokemon with a pretty straightforward set of abilities with a main focus of teleportation to catch enemies off guard. The new Pokemon can also transform to Unbound form and gain new powerful abilities at a cost of not being able to score points for allies. Hoopa in Pokemon UNITE can also link to an ally to amplify their movement speed and shield power. When Hoopa basic attacks, linked allies will also passively fire the same basic attack for extra damage.

Hoopa in Pokemon UNITE is currently playable for free for a limited time after downloading the version 1.4.1.4 update. The trial run will last until 15th March. Players can also unlock the new Pokemon for free in the Day Kitchen Event which is currently ongoing.

New Mythical Pokemon, Hoopa available now in Pokemon UNITE

The basic abilties of Hoopa in Pokemon UNITE may seem more focused on supportive capabilities but the new Pokemon can also switch to being an attacker after unlocking a UNITE move, opening more ways to play the new pokemon.

Level 1 - 3 moves

Hoopa’s basic move is Astonish and Confusion. These moves can evolve into either Shadow Ball or the new ability called Phantom Force. Shadow Ball deals damage to enemies and decreasing their movement speed and Special (Sp) Defence.

Phantom Force summons a ring to a designated location which damages enemies and shoving them back. Hoopa can cast this move the second time to teleport back to the location where Phantom Force was casted.

Level 4 moves

Upon reaching level four, Hoopa can choose to unlock Hyperspace Hole or Trick. Hyperspace Hole is a unique move that will summon a ring on the ground, and after a short time, Hoopa and an ally within the ring will be teleported back to their team’s base and provide increased movement speed. This ability can also be used inside goal zones, allowing allies to quickly teleport between top or bottom lane.

Trick, on the other hand links Hoopa to an ally and provide bonus movement speed and shield power for a short period of time. When Hoopa basic attacks enemies while linked to an ally, the ally will passive fire the same basic attacks that Hoopa made without cost. When paired with Phantom Force, Hoopa and the ally will both get teleported to teleport back to the location where Phantom Force was casted and gets healed.

Level 9: UNITE move

Upon reaching level 9, the UNITE move, Rings Unbound, can be unlocked. Upon cast, Hoopa turns into “Hoopa Unbound” and gain increased HP and summon a ring to a designated location. Ally Pokemon can teleport to the ring’s location but it can only be used once per ally.

As Hoopa Unbound, moves will change to Hyperspace Fury and Psybeam at a cost of not being able to score goals.

Hyperspace Fury is an area of effect attack that deals multi-hit damage Pokémon in the area of effect. Psybeam is a horizontal ray that deals damage to any Pokémon in its way while making Hoopa immune to hindrances while casting.

Hoopa in Pokemon UNITE may be the first support type Pokemon to have such complicated mechanics. However, mastering how these moves work and figuring a perfect combo to outsmart your enemies will definitely make it an fun experience for players who want to play the aggressive support role.
