Warzone Mobile's launch will see COD: Mobile being slowly phased out of markets outside China.
Warzone Mobile will launch on 21st March and COD: Mobile is likely to coexist with the upcoming game but only for a limited time.

According to recent information, Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM) will be phased out over time, outside of China, with the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Here's what we know about the phase out process and the future of your Call of Duty: Mobile account.

Call of Duty: Mobile Will Likely Be Phased Out

A response given by Microsoft to the Competition and Markets Authority of the UK, as part of its efforts to close a $68.7 billion USD deal to acquire Activision, revealed the following:

"CoD: Mobile was developed and is owned by TiMi Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent. Any spinout of the game would therefore [Redacted]. CoD: Mobile is expected to be phased out over time (outside of China) with the launch of Warzone Mobile.”

While Activision has not directly informed users of this change, we are likely to not get any cross-progression between both games. The upcoming Warzone Mobile launch will likely have a tie-in with the PC and console version of Call of Duty (and Warzone) as COD: Mobile has always been a standalone title.

With Tencent's TiMi Studios not working on Warzone Mobile, you might just lose access to all your purchases once COD: Mobile phases out. There may be some form of cross progression but we will have to wait for official information from Microsoft.

Call of Duty: Mobile vs Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile: What's Different?

Digital Legends Entertainment, Beenox, Activision Shanghai Studio, and Solid State Studios are working on the mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone. COD Mobile on the other hand was developed by Tencent Games, TiMi Studio Group and Activision.

Game Modes

COD: Mobile: Offers a wide variety of game modes, including Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Destroy, Search and Rescue, Free For All, Hardpoint, and a Battle Royale mode.

Warzone Mobile: Currently focuses on the Battle Royale mode, similar to the PC and console versions of Warzone, with large-scale maps, 100 players, and objective-based elements like contracts and Gulag respawns.

Features

COD: Mobile: Has a wider range of features, including various maps, game modes, character customization options, weapons, and equipment. It also integrates with the Call of Duty account system, allowing players to progress across different Call of Duty titles.

Warzone Mobile: Expected to have features closer to the PC and console versions of Warzone, including contracts, Gulag respawns, loadouts, and a larger focus on vehicles and strategic movement.

Maps

COD: Mobile: Features various maps of different sizes, typically catering to smaller-scale team-based game modes.

Warzone Mobile: Features a larger and more complex map, potentially Verdansk or a similar environment, designed for 100 players in the Battle Royale mode.
