Controller support in Apex Legends Mobile will not be available at launch.
The developers are currently working on controller support and it will be available "very soon."
Emulation support is also not available officially and the anti-cheat may flag emulator usage as hacking at launch.

Apex Legends Mobile is set to launch on 17th May 2022 and if you have been waiting for the mobile battle royale, the day is finally here. Unfortunately, there is some bad news waiting for those who want to play the game on a controller. There will be no controller support at launch but Respawn stated that it is currently working on implementing controller support. Emulation will not be available at launch either which means that there is currently no way of playing the game on PC until support is added.

When will controller support come to Apex Legends Mobile?

Controller support for Apex Legends Mobile is coming soon. In an interview with Gamerbraves, the game’s Senior Director of Product Myke Hoff said, “We have a lot built in that we’ve been actively testing. It might not be quite ready for the launch, but it’ll be patched in soon enough.”

Using emulators can be seen as “hacking”

If you want to use an emulator to play the game, you might want to rethink. Mobile emulation will not be available at launch and using them can lead to a ban. The game’s anti-cheat system flags emulators and you may lose all account progression if you try to play the game on your PC.

However, Google is reportedly working on a native mobile emulator for PC that will allow players to play Apex Legends Mobile on PC without needing third-party emulators. Until the emulator is available on PC, it is recommended to not risk your Apex Legends Mobile account’s progression. The dev team is yet to decide on which emulators will be supported. It is something that may be added in the future but no promises have been made at the time of writing.

However, button remapping is something that will be available at launch. The jump button is located right above the slide button and not everyone is a fan of that. The Apex dev team will allow players to customize their settings. Tablets have also received User Interface (UI) customization to ensure that players are able to comfortably play the game on any device regardless of its size.

Players who want controller support and emulation will be disappointed with the news but it is only a matter of time until they are implemented.
