As India’s gaming sector evolves from a nascent curiosity to a mainstream cultural force, Mayhem Studios is making a strategic bet with Underworld Gang Wars (UGW), a battle royale title steeped in Indian themes and aesthetics. Backed by mobile gaming powerhouse Mobile Premier League (MPL) and supported by key investors including Peak XV Partners (formerly known as Sequoia India), Steadview Capital, Truecaller, Hashed Emergent, and Lumikai, the studio aims to take on a market traditionally dominated by international giants.

Currently in its pre-registration phase, UGW seeks to accomplish what few games have managed—deliver an authentic Indian narrative that resonates with local players. The title’s mix of regional storytelling and fast-paced battle royale gameplay reflects Mayhem’s ambition to create a unique space in India’s burgeoning gaming ecosystem.
