Is It Still Worth Pulling Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae in Honkai: Star Rail 2.0?
Honkai: Star Rail patch 2.0 is set to arrive next week and we are getting Jing Yuan and Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae (DHIL) as the two rerun characters. If you missed out on DHIL during the first banner and are wondering if he is still worth it, here's what you need to know. Do note that our analysis is based on his place in the current metagame and if you like the character for non-gameplay reasons like voiceover, story or design, please feel free to pull for characters that you enjoy and do not let us stop you.
Is Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae Still Worth it in Honkai Star Rail 2.0?
Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae is still a very powerful DPS and with the release of Sparkle, he might become the most popular DPS in the game. One of the reasons why players prefer Jingliu to him is due to his innate Skill Point (SP) issues. Managing your SP becomes a chore when playing DHIL and he needs very specific supports to truly shine.
But with the release of Sparkle, his SP issues should be fully resolved and his kit's true potential will be unlocked. That being said, he might still not be worth your pulls. You need Sparkle to make him shine and pulling for both characters as a free-to-play player can be very difficult unless you already have a large stash of Stellar Jade saved up.
His Eidolon 2 is where he gets a massive power spike and if you already have him at E0 or E1, going for E2 is definitely worth it if you are looking for vertical investment for your account.
Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae vs Dr. Ratio
Imbibitor Lunae is the superior character in terms of strength when compared to Dr. Ratio but the difference between them is not big enough to warrant spending up to 180 pulls. Dr. Ratio is comfortably clearing Memory of Chaos in less than one cycle when heavily invested into and most importantly, he is a free character. Ratio's single target damage is so high that even in two or three target scenarios he does not struggle to clear what is seen as the game's hardest content.
Unless you really like Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, we recommend pulling for a DPS of a different element instead.
