Best Aventurine Build in Honkai: Star Rail 2.1 - Best Light Cones, Relics, Traces and Stat Priorities
Aventurine is finally here in Honkai: Star Rail 2.1 and if you are looking for a reliable Aventurine build that can help you clear content easily, we are here to help you out. Do note that this build is focused at newer and mid-game players in mind and at the lategame, you can consider tossing away from Defence (DEF) in favor of more offensive output. The build is designed to be used in all teams and not necessarily just follow-up attack (FuA) teams.
Honkai: Star Rail 2.1 - Aventurine Trace Priority
The priority for leveling Aventurine's traces is Skill > Talent > Ultimate > Basic. You should unlock all of his bonus traces as quickly as possible as it will unlock the full potential of his kit. If you are new to the game try to get his Skill and Talent to level 6 at the very least and focus on the other traces later.
Honkai: Star Rail 2.1 Aventurine Build - Best Light Cones
Aventurine's signature light cone is not worth it as a free-to-play player unless you really like the character and are willing to invest heavily into his kit. He can sustain perfectly fine with 4-star light cones or even Gepard's 5-star signature light cone. That being said, his light cone can apply a debuff which can be beneficial for Dr. Ratio teams.
Moment of Victory is a great light cone option if you have it from the Standard banner or weapon banner. It has a very high base DEF value, up to 48% increased DEF at Superimposition 1 (S1) and an increased chance to get hit, which can help draw aggro away from allies.
For a true free-to-play option, Destiny's Thread Forewoven (available via the Light Cone Manifest shop in the Parlor Car of the Astral Express) is a fantastic option as well. You can get a 20% DEF increase and up to 48% increased damage. It is completely free to obtain and it gives you a nice mix of defensive and offensive power.
If you have Acheron, Trend of the Universal Market is a no-brainer pick as it gives Aventurine a decent amount of DEF and also allows him to apply a debuff fairly consistently. It is worth using even if you do not have many superimpositions on it. Other light cone options like Day One of My New Life or This is Me! are also great options.
Honkai: Star Rail 2.1 Aventurine Build - Best Relics
Main Set
You can use the Knight of Purity Palace 4-piece set to grant Aventurine 16% DEF and 20% shield increase. But if you want to increase his damage then running 2-piece Knight along 2-piece Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters/Ashblazing Grand Duke/Wastelander of Banditry can also be very good.
Planar Ornaments
For a support build Broken Keel is your best option. Since he already grants the entire party 50% Effect RES he can activate the set bonus without needing any additional substats. He can also enable other supports in your teams to run Broken Keel with ease too which is something a lot of players might overlook at first glance.
If you want to boost his damage, Inert Salsotto is a great option too. It grants him a bit of free Crit Rate and boosts his follow-up damage. Belobog of the Architects is also fine to use for a more defensive build.
Honkai: Star Rail 2.1 Aventurine Build - Recommended Stats
You should get to 4000 DEF in the lategame but as a new or mid-game player, just try to get his DEF up as much as possible. Your shields, damage and crit rate passive all scale with his DEF so you want to get it as high as possible.
Since his shields come from his skill and not his ultimate like Gepard, you can just go for DEF% main stats on all slots (Orb, Rope, Body, Boots) in the early game. You can go for a Crit DMG% body and Crit Rate% + Crit DMG% substats as you progress into the lategame.
Here's how you should approach his stats in the late-game:
Get to 4000 DEF to give Aventurine 48% free Crit Rate
He has a base Crit Rate of 5% which takes you to 53% (48%+5%) Crit Rate
With a Crit Damage% body (62%) and his base Crit Damage (50%). You will have 112% Crit DMG
So without any substats you already have 53% Crit Rate and 112% Crit Damage as long as you run a Crit Damage body. If you can get around 17% Crit Rate and 28% Crit Damage via substats from your six relics, you can get a very impressive 70% Crit Rate and 140% Crit Damage build going with minimal investment.
