Genshin Impact players are eagerly awaiting the release of the highly anticipated 4.1 update, which promises a host of exciting new content and features. Scheduled for release on 27 September 2023, the 4.1 update is poised to introduce fresh characters, Archon Quests, and gameplay elements while celebrating the third anniversary of Genshin Impact. In this article, we'll delve into the details of what players can expect from this upcoming update.

Genshin Impact 4.1 Release Date and Phases

The Genshin Impact 4.1 update is set to launch on 27 September 2023. Much like previous versions, it will follow a pattern of two phases, with the first phase starting on 27 September and concluding on 18 October and the second phase commencing on 18 October and concluding on 8 November. Each phase spans 21 days, resulting in a total update duration of 42 days.

New Playable Characters and Weapons

One of the most exciting aspects of any Genshin Impact update is the introduction of new characters, and 4.1 is no exception. Players can look forward to two 5-star characters: Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst user, and Neuvilette, a Hydro Catalyst user. These characters promise to bring fresh abilities and playstyles to the game.

Additionally, character reruns are expected in this update. The first half of Genshin Impact 4.1 will feature the return of Venti alongside Wriothesley, while the second half will bring Hu Tao back alongside Neuvilette. This provides players with opportunities to obtain or further enhance these characters.

Accompanying the new characters are signature weapons tailored to enhance their abilities. In the first half of the update, players can obtain Wriothesley's Cashflow Supervision and Venti's Elegy for the End as featured weapons. In the second half, Neuvilette's Tome of Eternal Flow and Hu Tao's Staff of Homa will be available to complement their respective characters' strengths.

New Bosses, Enemies, and Map Expansion

The 4.1 update introduces two new bosses to the world of Teyvat. The Experimental Field Generator is a formidable foe with gravity-modifying mechanics, capable of unleashing area-of-effect attacks. The Millennial Pearl Seahorse, an electro-elemental boss, also makes its debut. These bosses are expected to drop valuable materials for character ascension.

Additionally, players will face new Fatui enemies, the Seneschal of Frost and Seneschal of Wind, who bring cryo and anemo elements into the battle. These encounters promise exciting challenges and rewards.

Exploration enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the Fontaine map is expanding to the east, unveiling previously inaccessible areas. This expansion unlocks the prison realm, setting the stage for the next Archon quest and exploration opportunities. Players can also venture into a new cave to investigate and solve a mysterious phenomenon.

Events and Rewards

Genshin Impact 4.1 brings a plethora of events to engage players. The first phase includes the Mondstadt Poetry event and Klee Fishblasting Event, while the second phase features the 3-team battle event and the Jellyfish recovery event. Additionally, a 7-day login event offers players 10 free wishes, and new gadgets, including the Itty Bitty Octobaby and Bubble Generator, enhance gameplay.

As the third anniversary of Genshin Impact approaches, a login event titled "Admiring the Flowing Moonlight" will provide 10 free limited character event wishes, making it a rewarding time to dive into the game.

Countdown and Maintenance

To prepare for this exciting update, players should be aware of the maintenance schedule. Maintenance for Version 4.1 is scheduled for 26 September 2023 (UTC-5). Typically, maintenance concludes five hours after it begins. In case of any delays, players will receive 60 Primogems as compensation for each hour of delay, provided they are at least Adventure Rank 5.

Maintenance times vary based on time zones, so players should plan accordingly. Once the maintenance is complete, the 4.1 update will be ready to explore, promising an abundance of new content and adventures in the world of Teyvat.
