Genshin Impact Studies in Light and Shadow Event Guide

Genshin Impact players are in for an adventure with the introduction of the "Studies in Light and Shadow: A Fontaine of Enchantment" event. As the grand finale of version 4.0, this event offers players the opportunity to earn Primogems and other exciting rewards while exploring the captivating world of Fontaine. This event provides a refreshing break from the usual battles and quests, allowing players to flex their creative muscles.

Studies in Light and Shadow Event Schedule & Eligibility

"Studies in Light and Shadow" is a delightful mini-game that challenges Travelers to capture the essence of various sights and scenes using Bresson's Special Kamera gadget. 

The Studies in Light and Shadow event runs from 14th September to 25th September, 2023. To participate, players must be at Adventure Rank 20 or higher and have unlocked at least one Statue of Seven in the nation of Fontaine.

To kickstart the event, locate the NPC Bresson on the beach in the north of Poisson Village. Bresson will provide you with a Special Kamera gadget, which you'll need for the event.

Event Stages & Gameplay

This event consists of six stages, each with its set of objectives. These stages will unlock successively from14th September to 19th September. Here are the stages and their respective missions:

1. Xenochromatic Fontemer Aberrant: Capture photos of 1-3 kinds of Xenochromatic Fontemer Aberrants.

2. Clockwork Meka: Snap pictures of 2-4 kinds of Clockwork Meka.

3. Fontainian Canine: Photograph 1-3 kinds of Fontainian Canines.

4. Fontainian Bird: Take shots of 2-4 kinds of Fontainian Birds.

5. Sunken Object: Photograph a wrecked ship and underwater creatures.

6. Scenic Attraction: Capture images of the Large Pneumousia Relay Station and an Antoine Roger Aircraft.

The event tasks players with visiting various locations in Fontaine and using the Special Kamera to photograph specific objects or creatures. Each stage provides descriptions and map markers to guide players to the correct locations.

Day 1: Xenochromatic Fontemer Aberrant

To fulfill the objectives of the first part of the "Studies in Light and Shadow" event, players must photograph three unique Xenochromatic Fontemer Aberrants, namely:

1. Xenochromatic Hunter's Ray

2. Xenochromatic Blubberbeast

3. Xenochromatic Armored Crab

Each of these creatures can be found in specific locations within the mesmerizing world of Fontaine. But before embarking on your photographic adventure, be sure to equip Bresson's Special Kamera from your inventory.

1. Xenochromatic Hunter's Ray

• Location: Behind the underwater waypoint on the east side of the Court of Fontaine.

• Description: Look out for a Xenochromatic Hunter's Ray playing alongside a regular Fontemer Aberrant. With your Bresson's Special Kamera in hand, focus on the Xenochromatic Ray and capture the moment.

2. Xenochromatic Blubberbeast

• Location: Southwest of the Obera Epiclese, at the underwater waypoint in the Salacia Plain.

• Description: Upon reaching the location, you'll encounter a Xenochromatic Blubberbeast right in front of you. Utilize your trusty camera to snap a photo of this captivating creature.

3. Xenochromatic Armored Crab

• Location: Head north from the Blubberbeast's location, and you'll stumble upon a small valley. In this canyon, you'll find a Xenochromatic Armored Crab swimming alongside a regular crab. Activate your Bresson's Special Kamera and capture the splendid Xenochromatic Creature.

Useful Tips & Event Rewards

Here are some handy tips for successfully completing the event:

• When photographing animals on the ground, consider using characters like Yaoyao, Aloy, or those with passive talents for hunting. These characters can approach animals without scaring them away.

• When dealing with underwater snapshots, make use of the Fontaine character Freminet. He possesses a special passive talent for diving, consuming less Stamina while underwater.

Upon completing the daily objectives, head to the event banner to claim your rewards, which include:

• 70 Primogems

• 40,000 Mora

• 2 Guides to Equity

• 3 Hero's Wits
