The introduction of Fontaine in Genshin Impact brought some new types of enemies called Local Legends. These elite enemies are scattered across Fontaine and it’s sub-regions such as Morte and the newly introduced Remuria. They bring unique abilities and battles to test even the most seasoned Travelers. Genshin Impact's version 4.6 introduces a new local legend, Cineas, in the Remuria region. This guide will help you locate Cineas and provide tips on how to beat this new Local Legend.

Cineas Location and Respawn Time

Cineas is found inside a large cavern under the Clivus Capitolinus in the Sea of Bygone Eras in Fontaine. To unlock this area, you must first progress through the Canticles of Harmony World Quest. Cineas respawns at the server reset, so you can fight it again after the next day.

How to Defeat Cineas

Cineas starts off with a Hydro armor that reduces the damage it takes and applies Hydro to itself. To defeat it, you need to destroy its Hydro armor by triggering Hydro reactions such as Bloom or Vaporize. Some of Cineas' attacks can also leech your active character's Elemental Burst energy, so ensure your character has energy to avoid HP reduction. Consider the following tips when fighting Cineas:

  1. Freeze Reaction Team: Use characters that can trigger the Freeze reaction to control Cineas and mitigate its attacks. Cryo characters like Ayaka or Rosaria paired with Hydro supports can be effective.

  2. Shielders: Including a character with a strong shield, such as Zhongli, can help protect your team from Cineas's attacks. This strategy can be particularly useful if you prefer a more defensive approach.

  3. Long-Distance Characters: Characters with long-distance attacks, like bow users Ganyu or Tighnari, can deal damage to Cineas while avoiding direct contact. This strategy is effective, especially when Cineas activates its Hydro shield.

  4. Healers: Bringing powerful healers to keep your team's HP up during the battle can be crucial. Consider characters like Qiqi or Barbara to maintain your team's health.

  5. Avoid Hydro Characters: Since Cineas gains a Hydro shield halfway through the battle, avoid using Hydro characters, as they won't be effective against this shielded state.

Recommended Teams

  • Shielded Quickbloom Team: Main DPS (Alhaitham), Support (Xingqiu), Support (Raiden), Support (Layla). This team is effective with a Dendro or Electro character as your Main DPS to quickly get rid of Cineas' armor and stack up Elemental Reactions.

  • Freeze Team: Main DPS (Ayaka), Support (Kokomi), Support (Kazuha), Support (Shenhe). This team can freeze Cineas and its attacks, stopping it altogether. Hydro supports are crucial to Freeze the enemy.

Cineas respawns daily, allowing players to challenge it again after the server reset. Defeating Cineas rewards players with an achievement and sometimes a Precious Chest, making it a worthwhile endeavor.
