As the current Fontaine arc in Genshin Impact comes to an end with the 4.2 update, players are eagerly looking forward to the 4.3 update, which will include a combination of new characters, reruns, events, and quality-of-life changes.  Here's a rundown of what to expect in the upcoming update including the release date for version 4.3 new characters, events, and quality-of-life enhancements.

Release Dates and Maintenance

Version 4.3 is scheduled to go live on 20 December 2023, with a maintenance downtime lasting 5 hours. The downtime will commence at 6:00 and conclude at 11:00 UTC +8. Players across the globe can mark their calendars for the release, with compensation in the form of 600 Primogems awaiting everyone after the servers go up.

Character Banners

Genshin Impact 4.3 introduces two new characters, Navia and Chevreuse, hailing from the Fontaine region. Additionally, three familiar faces make a return as reruns – Ayaka, Raiden Shogun, and Yoimiya from Inazuma. The banner schedule for the two phases is as follows:

  • 1st Half (December 20, 2023, to January 10, 2024):

    • Navia (Geo Claymore, new) and Kamisato Ayaka (Cryo Sword, rerun).

  • 2nd Half (January 10 to 31, 2024):

    • Yoimiya (Pyro Bow, rerun) and Raiden Shogun (Electro Polearm, rerun).

Each character's signature weapon will be featured simultaneously in the corresponding weapon banners.

Expected Features and Quality of Life Updates

Leaked information sheds light on several quality-of-life updates and features to enhance the overall gaming experience in version 4.3:

  • Respawn directly at the domain key during domain retries.

  • Spiral Abyss cooldown now refreshes upon retry.

  • Artifacts can be upgraded incrementally from level 4 to 20.

  • More materials and EXP books can be added for upgrading weapons, artifacts, and characters.

  • Quick resend characters for expeditions and claim rewards efficiently.

  • Improved artifact filter and an option to lock artifacts based on their rolls.

  • Automatic addition of artifacts to Strongbox.
