Players have been eagerly awaiting the debut of Charlotte, the friendly journalist introduced in version 3.7 of Genshin Impact. Armed with a Cryo vision and a Catalyst, Charlotte is set to become a playable 4-star character in version 4.2. Leaks and rumors have given us a glimpse into her abilities and constellations, shedding light on what role she might play in our teams. This article will look into the leaked information to provide you with an overview of Charlotte's kit and what to expect when she arrives in Genshin Impact 4.2.

Cryo Vision and Catalyst Wielder

As previously hinted in the game, Charlotte wields a Cryo Vision strapped to her thigh. Her alignment within the Pneuma and Ousia system in Genshin Impact is confirmed to be Pneuma, making her a catalyst user. Her Normal Attacks deal Cryo damage, and her Charged Attack consumes Stamina while dealing AoE Cryo damage. However, what truly sets Charlotte apart is her unique animations tied to her Kamera.

Kamera-Captured Attacks

Charlotte's Normal and Charged Attacks are quite distinctive. Instead of traditional weapon strikes, she captures her enemies in photographs using her Kamera. Her Normal Attacks (NA) deal Cryo damage, while her Charged Attacks (CA) unleash AoE Cryo damage. This unique approach to combat is a refreshing addition to the game.

Elemental Skill: Photography Debuffs

Charlotte's Elemental Skill, as seen in leaked information, revolves around her photography skills. Much like Nahida's Elemental Skill, it has two versions: a tap version and a hold version. When tapping the Elemental Skill button, Charlotte applies a debuff called "Snappy Silhouette" to opponents in front of her. This debuff inflicts Cryo damage on them in delayed intervals. The hold version, on the other hand, allows Charlotte to mark opponents using her camera's viewfinder, with a timer called "Finisher Frame" counting down. If Charlotte holds the camera until the timer ends, she deals Cryo damage to all opponents in view and applies the Snappy Silhouette debuff. Releasing the ability after the timer results in another debuff called "Focused Impression," which lasts longer but has a longer cooldown.

Elemental Burst: Still Photo and Healing

Charlotte's Elemental Burst, "Still Photo: Comprehensive Confirmation," creates an area that deals AoE Cryo damage to nearby opponents. What's more, upon triggering the Elemental Burst, Charlotte restores HP to all current party members, even if they're not active on the field. This makes her a valuable support character in team compositions. The amount of healing scales off Charlotte's ATK stat.

Supportive Capabilities and Passive Talents

Leaked details about Charlotte's passive talents suggest that she will be a versatile character in Genshin Impact. Her first passive, "Moment of Impact," reduces the cooldown of her Elemental Skill when enemies affected by "Focused Impression" are defeated, potentially allowing her to use this skill more frequently in battle.

The second passive, "Diversity Survey," offers a unique bonus depending on the composition of your team. If you have Fontaine characters in your party, Charlotte gains a healing bonus, while non-Fontaine allies grant her a Cryo damage bonus, up to 15% in both cases.

Finally, her third passive, "First-Person Shutter," appears to introduce a unique mechanic involving a gadget, the Special Analysis Zoom Lens, though specific details about its effects remain a mystery.

Charlotte's Constellations

Charlotte's constellation levels seem to enhance her support capabilities even further. Her first constellation, for instance, causes her Elemental Burst to heal the affected character and subsequently heal them every two seconds for a portion of Charlotte's Attack.

C2 increases her ATK when her Elemental Skill hits multiple enemies, making her more effective in dealing damage. Meanwhile, C3 enhances her Elemental Burst's level and cap level, providing more overall power.

C4 adds an interesting dynamic, increasing damage dealt and energy restoration when her Burst hits an enemy marked by either "Speedy Silhouette" or "Focused Impression."

C5 continues to enhance her Elemental Skill's level and cap, further amplifying her capabilities in battle.

Finally, her sixth constellation unleashes a follow-up attack with her camera when the active character's Normal and Charged Attacks hit opponents marked by "Focused Impression," dealing significant Cryo damage while also providing healing to the active character(s).
