As Genshin Impact approaches the final two patches of Fontaine, more details about Natlan and the Summer Event for 2024 have started to emerge. With Version 4.6 introducing the ruins of Remuria and the Sea of Bygone Eras, Genshin Impact won't be seeing a new map expansion until the launch of Natlan in August 2024. That being said, Version 4.7 will introduce three new playable characters, and Version 4.8 will have a temporary zone themed around its Flagship Event.

Natlan is A Land of Dragons and War
Natlan, expected to debut in August 2024, will be the game's next major expansion. It will introduce a new region focused on the themes of war and dragons, offering players a unique and immersive experience. According to leaks, the Pyro Archon and Dragon Sovereign of Natlan will play significant roles in the region's narrative.
Version 4.7 and 4.8 Character Banner Leaks
Before the launch of Natlan, Version 4.7 will bring three new playable characters: Clorinde and Alhaitham in the first half, followed by Sigewinne and Furina in the second half. However, Version 4.8 is not expected to introduce any new 5-Star characters. Instead, players may see reruns of popular characters like Wriothesley and Navia.
Summer Event and Hexenzirkel in Version 4.8
Version 4.8's Summer Event is rumored to revolve around the Hexenzirkel, offering players a fairytale-themed experience. Characters like Navia, Nilou, Wanderer, Kirara, and the ancient dragon Durin are expected to play key roles in this event. Players may even have the opportunity to ride Durin as part of a new mount system coming to the game.
Leaks of a New Narrative Approach in Natlan
With the release of Natlan, Genshin Impact is reportedly changing its approach to world design. The region will focus more on storytelling elements, similar to the Canticles of Harmony World Quest from Version 4.6. This shift aims to make Natlan's world more immersive and narrative-driven.
It won't be long until players get their first glimpse of Version 4.8, as beta testing is expected to commence on June 5, 2024. The next set of character outfits in Genshin Impact is also expected to debut in Version 4.8, and previous leaks concerning the topic align with the rumored fairy tale theme of the Summer Event.
