Microsoft announced that Xbox Live Gold is going away and it will be replaced by a new service called Xbox Game Pass Core, which will offer similar benefits as the current Live Gold subscription service. Once the change goes live, gamers will be able to purchase Game Pass Core, Game Pass Console, Game Pass PC and Game Pass Ultimate. Starting in September, your Live Gold subscription will be transformed to Game Pass Core which will include the following:

You will no longer receive free games every month as part of the Games with Gold deals. However, Microsoft is offering a selection of Game Pass titles that will be available to all Game Pass Core subscribers which include:

What will happen to your existing Games with Gold library?
All games that you redeemed in the past as part of your Games with Gold subscription will continue to be available on your account. You do not need to change your payment or login information and you will automatically be transitioned to the new service in September.
How much will Game Pass Core cost?
The service is priced at $9.99 USD per month and you can get Game Pass Ultimate for $16.99 USD per month which includes all of the features of Game Pass Core as well as the full library of games on Game Pass for PC, console and cloud.
