Wuthering Waves is an upcoming open-world action role-playing game developed by Kuro Games. The game promises to offer players a story-rich experience with a high degree of freedom. Players will explore a post-apocalyptic world where they will engage in combat with a rich and intuitive combat system featuring active dodges and timings.

The Wuthering Waves release date has been a topic of much speculation since the game was first announced. While initial release date speculations proved to be inaccurate, Kuro Games announced a closed beta for the game in April 2023 which has since ended. The release date for the full game is still unknown, fans can keep an eye on official announcements and hope the game will be released later in the year.

Wuthering Waves: Initial Release Date Speculations

The first release date for Wuthering Waves was set for May 2022. However, the release date was subsequently postponed until October 2022. Fans were left wondering when the game would be launched when sadly neither of these dates came to pass. According to some articles published in September 2022, the game was slated for a November 2022 global release. But as the month went on, it was clear that this was not the case. The game was still described as "currently under development" on the official Wuthering Waves Twitter account.

Wuthering Waves Closed Beta: April 2023

The closed beta for Wuthering Waves opened on 24th April 2023 and concluded on 17th May 2023. According to Kuro Games, significant changes will be made to the game following player reviews of the closed beta. The developers mentioned their plan to “Rewrite the storylines for some of the main missions and side quests; Adjust the personalities of some characters; Add English voice lines and improve dubbing quality; Optimize cutscene presentation.” in the story department.

Kuro Games also mentioned prioritizing localization and performance in their plans for further changes post the closed beta stating that “Localization quality is another focus of future improvement, as Wuthering Waves will be available globally. We are taking steps to improve the quality of text translation, voice lines, and interactive content.

In addition, more languages will be supported in the future. We look forward to bringing our global audience a better gaming experience.” and to “Optimize the game client to reduce lagging, frame drops, and crashes; Fix pixelated models, key sensitivity issues, and camera follow; Optimize the mobile experience, including making the interface layout, graphics quality, and frame rate customizable.”

In their announcement following the closed beta, Kuro Games mentioned a lot of different points for improving the game. However, there was no mention of further beta tests or an official release date for the game.
