Path of Exile 2 is set to release sometime in 2023 and if you are wondering if you can play the action role-playing game (ARPG) on consoles, we have some good news for you. Grinding Gear Games has confirmed that the game will come to consoles as well as PC. However, we do not have a release date for the game just yet. With ExileCon 2023 around the corner, we can expect more information about the game to be revealed during the event.

Path of Exile 2 will come to current and previous-gen consoles

Yes, Path of Exile 2 is coming to consoles. It was announced by Grinding Gear Games in 2021 that Path of Exile 2 will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

The console and PC versions of the game will have no differences when it comes to content. It means that players will be able to enjoy the same deep and complex character customization, vast and ever-changing world, and challenging and rewarding gameplay.

What to expect from Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2 is a sequel to the popular action role-playing game Path of Exile. It was announced in 2019 and is currently in development by Grinding Gear Games. It is set in the same world as Path of Exile but it follows a different story in the Atlas of Worlds.

The game will offer a new campaign, new skill trees and other content that players can delve into. Path of Exile 2 will feature a new skill system with over 190 new skills to choose from. These skills will be more powerful and versatile than the skills in Path of Exile according to the developers.

The endgame in Path of Exile 2 will also be different from what we are used to in the original Path of Exile. The game is expected to follow the same free-to-play model as its predecessor so you can play the game without spending a cent.

You may be incentivized to purchase Stash Tabs as free-to-play players have a limited amount of inventory space and additional slots will cost you money. Outside of Stash Tabs, all of the purchases in Path of Exile are cosmetic-only and the same formula might carry over to Path of Exile 2.

With Path of Exile 2 coming to consoles, Grinding Gear Games might tap into a much bigger audience than what the original Path of Exile achieved. The game is expected to release in 2023 and it might prove to be a strong competitor to Diablo 4’s live service model.
