The Season Finale of Amazon Prime’s “Invincible” Showcased a Hidden Fortnite Easter Egg!
While Fortnite has seen numerous crossovers with brands, TV shows, movies, anime, and more, an unexpected twist occurred when viewers noticed a subtle Fortnite reference during the last episode of the Amazon Prime animated superhero series “Invincible”. Many fans of the game recognized a distinct sniper rifle making an appearance within the show, suggesting that ‘Invincible’ had become a part of the Fortnite universe or vice versa. Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know.
Invincible Might Have Been Flung Into the Fortnite Universe (Contains Spoilers)
This specific incident unfolds in the final episode of Invincible dubbed “I Thought You Were Stronger.” Mark (Invincible) goes through numerous encounters with Angstrom Levy, the main villain of the second season. As the events of Season 2 unfold, Angstrom, believing that Mark has ruined his life, becomes consumed with hatred towards him.
Angstorm possesses the ability to create portals and travel to various other dimensions. During one such encounter, he sends Invincible hurtling through multiple wormholes, forcing Mark to travel through various realities. As he drifts from one dimension to another, he encounters references to various movies and TV shows, notably Spider-Man, Dr.Octopus, Batman, The Walking Dead, and even The Land Before Time.
As Invincible attempts to make his way back into his own reality, he emerges through a portal holding the muzzle of a gun in his hand. Although it might look like just a colored sniper rifle at first glance, keen observers and fans of Fortnite recognized it as the Dragon’s Breath Sniper, an exotic weapon introduced to the game in Chapter 2 Season 5 in December 2020.
Though no other Fortnite references are notable within the show, this scene featuring the weapon indicates that the battle royale is canon to the narrative of "Invincible." This could potentially mean that Angstrom Levy, who possesses knowledge about all possible realities within the multiverse, knows about the existence of Fortnite’s universe as well. While this easter egg has certainly excited fans, many also pointed out that Invincible, Omni-Man, and Atom Eve outfits were available for purchase on April 4th, the same day the Season 2 finale aired.
