After the release of the critically acclaimed Mafia Definitive Edition in September 2020, Hangar 13 and Take-Two have been really quiet, without sharing any details regarding their next big game, until now. Rumors suggest that a new open-world game dubbed “Mafia 4” will soon be announced to the public. Although the exact date remains unknown, this has excited long-time fans of the franchise who are hyped to see the next entry into Mafia. Without further ado, here’s everything we know!
Hangar 13 Might Reveal Mafia 4, Possibly in Another Four Weeks
According to a post by a reliable leaker who goes by the name Kurakasis, who accurately predicted the title of Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra and the announcement of Marvel Rivals by NetEase. According to Kurakasis, preparations for the announcement of the next entry into the Mafia series have already begun.
Unfortunately, we do not have an exact date, as the leaker has only mentioned that an announcement will be made “soon”. However, they also refer to another one of Take-Two’s games dubbed “Judas” which took 3 to 4 weeks for its official reveal after Kurakasis got the information.
The previously released Definitive Editions of all three Mafia games, sold more than 2 million units as of November 2020, which means the numbers must’ve certainly gone up since then. While most fans are already familiar with the existing storylines and characters in the series, a new edition with a brand-new narrative and presumably improved gameplay and mechanics is sure to excite the community.
As enthralling as it sounds, you need to keep in mind that there has been no official word from Take-Two Interactive or Hangar13 Studios at the time of writing, so please take it with a grain of salt.
For those unaware, Mafia is an open-world action-adventure game whose first entry dubbed Mafia was released worldwide in 2002. Unlike other GTA clones that are currently in the market, the Mafia series has earned a name of its own over the years, allowing players to live out their true-crime fantasies.
