Rumors of Red Dead Redemption 2's port surfaced a month after Rockstar Games released the first game on the Switch.
A Brazilian rating board listing suggests Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch.

While most Red Dead Redemption fans are desperate for a full remake of John Martson’s adventure, it seems like Rockstar Games has other plans in mind. We might see Red Dead Redemption 2 coming to Nintendo Switch.

Rockstar Games ported the first Red Dead Redemption to Switch last month, and even though it got a bit of criticism, it seems like the developer is ready to port the game’s sequel to the Switch. Red Dead Redemption 2 has now been rated for the Switch by the Brazilian classification board; here’s everything you need to know.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Rated for Nintendo Switch

X user Necro Felipe has pointed out a rating for the Nintendo Switch version of Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Brazilian government’s website. Even though the website has been updated to remove the Switch listing, the rating mentioned a Switch version for the game alongside a release for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Rockstar Games hasn’t made an official announcement regarding Red Dead Redemption 2 coming to Switch, though if we follow the listing, we might soon see the official announcement.

We haven’t seen Red Dead Redemption 2 port for Switch yet because of the hardware constraints, but Bethesda did manage to get DOOM Eternal working on Switch, and CD Projekt Red has also ported The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to the Switch. If we can get these titles on the Switch, it’s actually possible for Rockstar to port Red Dead Redemption 2.

However, given the Switch’s recent struggle to properly run NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat 1, it’s understandable that players are a bit nervous about how exactly Switch would handle RDR2, which is bigger and longer than the original game.

If the listing is true, chances are that Rockstar Games might officially announce the Red Dead Redemption 2 port for the Switch by the end of October to coincide with the game’s fifth anniversary. Video game companies mark these kinds of occasions with big announcements involving new game info or merch. If the game is ported to the Switch, it will be the biggest console platform to support RDR2.

And that’s everything we know about the Red Dead Redemption 2 port that might be coming to Nintendo Switch. Be sure to follow us as we’ll keep you updated on all the new RDR2 Switch Port information when it becomes available.
