Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Release Date
During the Summer Game Fest, Ubisoft showcased a tantalizing trailer, offering a sneak peek into the challenges that await players. Notably, the trailer also revealed that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be released on 18th January 2024.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown deviates from its previous titles (The Sands of Time trilogy and the 2008 game) in terms of both tone and art style, showcasing a refreshing departure from the franchise's established norms. The title returns to its roots as an action-adventure platforming title from a side-scrolling perspective, presenting a unique and immersive Metroidvania-esque experience for players, further enriching the Prince of Persia universe.
With its highly anticipated release on the horizon, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown promises to captivate both longtime fans and newcomers to the franchise.
The news will be a breath of fresh air for fans of the franchise who have long awaited a well-crafted installment in the franchise. A remake of the popular Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time installment has been in the works for quite some time. It was announced in September 2020 and was originally slated for a January 2021 release. But the game's ambitious timeline proved unattainable, following which the release date was pushed back to late 2021, only to be further delayed to an unspecified date in 2022. The game was then shifted to Ubisoft Montreal, “to build upon the work achieved by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai.”
Following this, the game entered into a conception phase, with Ubisoft canceling pre-orders of the game.
