With the Teal Mask DLC in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, both Munchlax and Snorlax are making their way back to the franchise. They are two of the many Pokemon returning in the expansion. Debuted in Gen 1, its pre-evolution, Munchlax, was introduced in Gen 4. And this pre-evolution Pokemon is one of the rarest Pokemon of all time.
In this article, we’ll take a look at how you can find Munchlax and then evolve it into the iconic Gen 1 Pokemon, Snorlax.
Where Can I Find Munchlax?
Players can find Munchlax in the wilderness and capture it with a Pokeball. The second way to go about this is to visit the northeast of Mossui Town. There, at one of the stalls at the Kitakami Hall, check out the in-game minigame called Ogre Oustin’. After completing the ten rounds of the game, players will be rewarded with a shiny Mounchlax. However, you need to play the game on hard mode to obtain it. This will be a level 1 Pokemon, who knows two moves: lick and tackle.
Evolving Munchlax in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
To evolve Munchlax to its next and final stage, Snorlax, players must spend a lot of time with it. This is one of the few Pokemon that evolves only after attaining a certain amount of Happiness/Friendship level. Upon achieving peak happiness, it will evolve into the final stage of Snorlax.
Here are some tips that can help you strengthen your relationship with Munchlax to facilitate a smoother and faster evolution:
When in a battle, do not let it faint
Use it in battles
Continue to raise its Pokemon levels
Prioritize it in auto-battling
Give it the Soothe Bell item
Take it out for picnics
Feed it sandwiches
Additionally, players can also use the Pokemon Wash feature to raise friendship levels with Munchlax.
