Megan Fox is now in her gamer-girl era! NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games have announced that Fox is going to voice the vampire Nitara.
After the announcement of Mortal Kombat 1, fans speculated that NetherRealm and WB would try to introduce Megan Fox's Jennifer Body as DLC. Even Travis Scott's name had been thrown into the mix.
Mortal Kombat 1 Casts Megan Fox as Nitara
After some social media teases, NetherRealm has confirmed that Nitara will make her appearance in Mortal Kombat 1.
The studio has shown off the new character in a brand-new gameplay trailer, with a complete commentary from Megan Fox, who provides Nitara's voice.
Although the majority of the trailer focuses on Megan Fox and cinematics, we do get to see some of Nitara's gameplay.
Nitara comes from the dark realm of Vaeternus, and she's willing to do anything to protect her race of vampires. In the teaser, Nitara makes use of her claws, fangs, and other abilities. The gameplay also showcases Nitara using some type of blood seal that makes her glow red. This obviously gives her a buff and probably activates after drinking the opponent's blood, but we have to wait and see how this ability plays out. Nitara's voice lines also reference Fox's old work.
According to Fox, "She's evil, but she's also good. She's trying to save her people. I really like her. She's a vampire, which obviously resonates for whatever reason. It's cool to be in the game, you know? Because I'm not really just voicing it, it'll be like she's kind of me."
Nitara's role is perfectly tailored for Megan Fox for multiple reasons. We've already seen her cosplaying Zelda and making an appearance in Diablo 4's marketing campaign. The role aligns with the public persona she has been cultivating over the years. She's playing as a vampire in a videogame, which makes sense for someone who drank her own partner's blood!
