The Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners update, or the patch 1.6, breathed a fresh life into the game back with its launch in September 2022. The update for the game was released alongside the Netflix anime series of the same name.
Patch 1.6 was a massive 40 GB update that overhauled the game and brought in new fixes. At the launch, the open world of Cyberpunk 2077 felt dull and lifeless. Vehicles used to just run over you, and police stared at you when you committed a crime. However, all these issues were starting to be resolved with Patch 1.6, and now, Night City feels more alive than ever before.
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0: The Complete Overhaul
Cyberpunk 2077 got a major overhaul in the version 2.0 update launched in September 2023. The update builds on patch 1.6, and it’s so massive that it changes the system requirements for the game. With the update, players got a revamped police system, improved weapons, and much more. You might have to upgrade your PC for this update, but it's all worth it.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC: Game’s First Major Expansion
Even before Cyberpunk 2077’s release, developers confirmed that the game would receive Witcher 3-sized DLCs. With the Phantom Liberty DLC, we’re finally going to see that.
Phantom Liberty is a paid expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 that features a new crime-thriller storyline featuring Idris Elba as a part of the main cast. This massive expansion will add new content for players to explore, featuring new weapons and a revamped skill tree. The base game will also be improved with a new ending for V and Johnny Silverhand’s story.
Is Cyberpunk 2077 Worth Your Time?
Everyone thought this game was dead, but Patch 1.6 pulled it back from its grave. With the 2.0 Update and the upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion, Cyberpunk 2077 is in perfect shape. You’ll get to play with some of the wildest guns and different builds.
