The Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty follows the story of V, who we’ve met in Cyberpunk 2077. As a cyber-enhanced mercenary, V must take part in high-stakes espionage missions and save the NUS president; it will not be easy for players. Along the way, you’ll forge new alliances and meet new characters, such as the FIA agent Solomon Reed (Idris Elba).
Players would explore a new location called ‘Dogtown’ for the Phantom Liberty DLC. It’s an entirely new district and labeled as one of the most dangerous areas in Night City, making it perfect for a spy-thriller escapade.
Cyberpunk 2077: Is Phantom Liberty DLC a Sequel?
Nope! Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC does not serve as a sequel to the base game. The DLC’s events take place during Cyberpunk 2077’s main story, and you do not have to complete the game to play the DLC.
We’re still not exactly sure how Phantom Liberty would impact the main game’s narrative; players would need to wait and play the DLC to understand its implications fully. CD Projekt has confirmed that players would need to reach a certain point in Cyberpunk 2077 to unlock Phantom Liberty DLC, and there are multiple endings for the DLC based on how things play out.
You can also expect Phantom Liberty DLC to influence Cyberpunk 2077’s ending; players would be able to unlock a new ending in the game.
Cyberpunk 2077: When Does Phantom Liberty DLC Release?
Cyberpunk 2077’s first and last expansion, the Phantom Liberty DLC, is all set to drop on 26th September 2023 on PC, Xbox Series S/X, and PlayStation 5. Fans hoped that the Phantom Liberty DLC would be available as a free add-on, but it’s going to be priced at $29.99 USD for players to purchase.
