Bloodborne is one of the most famous PlayStation-exclusive titles that has come out in the last decade. It brought refinement to the traditional souls-like gameplay by adding exceptional boss designs and other unique sets of features that simplified the hassle of souls games. The game was released all the way back in 2015, selling over 2 million copies worldwide just that year. Ever since its release, PC gamers have been hoping to see the game make its way to PC via Steam or other PC game stores.
There are still rumors and speculations floating around, hinting at the existence of a fully finished PC port of Bloodborne. Let's take a look at some of those.
Claims about a Bloodborne PC port
Bloodborne was initially released in 2015 as a stand-alone souls game where players explore the world of Yharnam. Several hardcore fans of FromSoftware’s games are highly anticipating its arrival on PC to the point where there’s a dedicated Twitter account expecting the announcement.
Recently an insider who goes by @manfightdragon on Twitter, posted an image of Bloodborne’s Wiki page stating that the screenshots are taken directly from the PC port of the game.
They claim that the screenshots of the oil urns shown on the page were contributed by Marcos Domenech who is an environment artist working for FromSoftware. They also say that the game was running on a completed port for PC running on Windows. Moreover, the screenshots were named “SPRJ-win64” which points out that the image was taken by a debug camera to which no one had access. They also said that the screenshots are from Fishing Hamlet which means it was essentially the full game and the DLC included with it.
Even though these rumors seem credible, it is also true that most games are developed on PCs and Bloodborne would be no exception, regardless of its exclusivity to PlayStation consoles
Jeff Grub Denies Claims of an impending release of a PC port
Moreover, EarlyGame pointed out the podcast in which notable insider and journalist Jeff Grub appeared and cleared the air about Bloodborne. He states that FromSoftware is too busy with Elden Ring to work on its other titles. This is entirely possible considering the fact Elden Ring recently won the GOTY award which further catapulted its popularity, which could have prompted development of DLCs or multiplayer.
He also mentioned that the game was built in such a way that it would be a humongous task for other developers to work on its complex code. Even if they were to work on a possible remaster for both PC and consoles, they would need close supervision from FromSoftware in order to achieve it.
