Exoprimal is an online team-based shooter where you put on exosuits and battle it out against Dinosaurs and other primitive creatures.
This article explains how crossplay works in Exoprimal, along with its current limitations

Exoprimal is the latest online shooter game made by Capcom. This team-based shooter allows players to get outfitted with exosuits and combine their efforts to save humanity by defeating the Dinosaur outbreak that occurs in the year 2040. The game released on the 14th July and it continues to develop a wide range of audience. As we see more and more games coming out with crossplay as a standard feature, we expected the same in Exoprimal as well. Although the game does support crossplay, there is one caveat that we will get to know through this article.

Exoprimal’s Crossplay Features

While it is officially mentioned that the Exoprimal supports crossplay, it does come with its own limitations.

In the current version of Exoprimal, crossplay is only enabled for the game’s matchmaking. This turned out to be a disappointment for many gamers as they were expecting to join in parties with their mates across different systems. Capcom tweeted on 7th July that Exoprimal would only have cross-play matchmaking but creating a party across different platforms would not yet be available. Party creation is specific to these three groups:

  • Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Windows though Xbox Game Pass

  • PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5

  • Steam

What comes as a big surprise is the fact that Exoprimal will not support game pass subscribers and Steam users to create parties, even though they are on PC. However, as Capcom continues to update the game, we might hopefully see fully enabled crossplay across all platforms.

  2. Press the PlayStation button

  3. Select the party menu
